Delhi: IMD predicts rise in temperature; mercury to hit 40°C by month-end

The national capital is expected to see a rise in temperature in the coming days with mercury likely to hit 40 degrees Celsius by month-end, the Met department predicted. Summer has finally arrived in Delhi with the temperature soaring high each and every day. On Sunday, the mercury in Delhi jumped by around two degrees, after falling to 34.5 degrees Celsius the previous day. The national capital was witnessing mild weather with sun and strong winds, but with the constant rise in the temperature, the mercury is expected to hit 40 degrees Celsius by the month-end. As per the report by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the temperature jumped to 36.8 degrees Celsius on Sunday, five degrees above normal for this time of the season. According to the report, Delhi’s Pitampura was the hottest area of the city at 38.7 degrees Celsius, followed by 38.5 degrees at Yamuna Sports Complex in East Delhi. New Delhi:  Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia today presented a ₹ 75,800 crore budget in the Assembly for the financial year 2022-23. "Delhi's economy is recovering gradually from the impact of COVID-19. The budget allocation for 2022-23 is ₹ 75,800 crore," Mr Sisodia said in his budget speech. The budget size for the financial year 2021-22 was   ₹   69,000 crore. The budget size for 2022-23 is 9.86 per cent higher than the previous year.
